Along the “lungomare” of Catania, you can ride your bike on the designated bike path to arrive in Ognina and ultimately to the Porto Ulisse (Port of Ulysses), a beautiful marina where you can see the Sicilian boats and, at times, fisherman working to pull in the day’s catch.

La Scogliera

As you ride along the lungomare toward Aci Castello, you will be see the beautiful cliffs made of lava rock that emanated from the volcanic activity surrounding Mt. Etna throughout the centuries.

Aci Castello – The Norman Castle

Visit the Norman castle, which was initially built in 1076, along with the beautiful surrounding piazza. Take in the history and the beauty of Aci Castello, and if you would like, even a tour of the castle.

Aci Trezza

One of the most beautiful cities and shorelines near Catania is at the end of this trip at Aci Trezza. See the volcanic islands, swim, snorkel or do other sports in the natural bay, or take in some of the amazing food in this little town, a favorite amongst the locals.
